Sesame Crusted Tuna

Serves 4 as an entree


Ingredients

  • ¼ cup black sesame seeds

  • ¼ cup white sesame seeds

  • 2 x ~150g tuna steaks 

  • ½ cup Uvoila Grapeseed Oil

  • ¼ cup light soy sauce

  • ¼ cup mirin

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar 

  • 1 teaspoon caster sugar 



Method

  1. Combine and spread sesame seeds on a plate. 

  2. Dip either side of the tuna steaks into the sesame seeds and place on a clean plate. 

  3. Heat Uvoila Grapeseed Oil in a frying pan over high heat. Place tuna steaks into the oil for 30-45 seconds on each side or until seared and cooked colour only slightly starting to travel up the side of the tuna steak. Remove to a chopping board immediately.

  4. Slide tuna against the grain into 0.5cm pieces. 

  5. Combine dressing ingredients in a small bowl. 

  6. Lay sliced tuna on a serving platter. Scatter spring onions and drizzle sauce over the top

  7. Enjoy!
